Roles

The Roles Manager defines what level of security clearance users may have.  Roles are useful when you want to limit the amount of access a user has within the database.  For instance, a lower tier employee would have no business accessing deposits, purchasing or receivables but would still need the ability to create invoices or utilize the POS system.  Roles in Bizuno can accomplish just that.  It gives certain users to ability to access what they need and keeps them from accessing what they don't.  The Roles defined for each user can vary in not only what they are able to see but also what they are able to edit.  In this chapter we will cover the levels of ability within Bizuno and how to utilize Roles to get the most out of the software.

Upon initial installation, the user that is created has full permission to all modules, extensions and features associated with the business.  Only one role is allowed per username, to access your business. This user is considered the administrator and is assigned the role Admin.   

To begin we need to access the Roles Manager.  The Roles Manager can be accessed by:

Business → Roles

If this is your first time accessing the manager there will be no other roles listed in the manager. Let's get started.

Roles Manager


The first screen you will see is the Roles Manager. A list of previous roles will be appear in order by post date.

New - To begin a new role creation click the New icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen. The Roles Manager accordion will collapse and the Roles detail page will open allowing you to begin creating a new role.

Refresh - To refresh the screen click the Refresh icon in the upper right left hand corner of the page. This is helpful when you make a mistake or wish to start from the beginning.

Search - Enter any information in the search field to begin a search based on information that you define and click the search button.

Edit - To view any of these roles in detail double click any one of them or click on the green pencil icon next to the role.

Delete - To delete a role click the recycle bin to the left of any role.

To sort the Roles click the title header and the manager will sort by title. You can also click the double arrows to the right of the Roles Manager/Details to collapse or extend the respective accordions.

Page Navigation

To move to the first page of roles click the arrow with a line to the left or click page by page using the left pointing arrow. To move to the last page of roles click the arrow with a line to the right or click page by page using the right pointing arrow. To change the number of results to be displayed choose a number from 10 - 50 in the bottom left hand corner of the Manager. You can also enter the page you wish to navigate to by entering the number in the field provided.

Adding a New Role

  1. Click the New Button in the upper left hand corner the Manager accordion will collapse and open the Role Details accordion.




  2. Enter the relevant information in to the fields provided.

  3. Click the Save button near the top of the screen.

Updating a Role

  1. To edit a Role locate it in the Manager.

  2. Double click the Adjustment you wish to edit of click the green pencil icon to the left of it.

  3. The Manager accordion will collapse and the Roles accordion will open.

  4. Edit the information you wish to change.

  5. Click the Save button near the top of the screen.

Deleting a Role

  1. To delete a Roles record locate it in the Manager.
  2. Click the trash can icon to the left of the record.
