Company Setup is the record of your business — the name, address, phone, and logo that show on every invoice, PO, statement, and email. Get it right on day one and you almost never touch it again.

Sample: Ridgeline Cycles #

  • Legal Name: Ridgeline Cycles LLC
  • DBA: Ridgeline Cycles
  • Address: 148 Meadow St, Anywhere, CO 80XXX
  • Phone: (555) 555-0148
  • Email: sh**@*************es.example
  • EIN: XX-XXXXXXX
  • Sales Tax Permit: (state permit number)
  • Fiscal Year Start: January
  • Default Currency: USD
  • Locale: en_US, MM/DD/YYYY, 1,234.56

Logo guidelines #

  • Size: ~600–1200 px wide, transparent background.
  • Format: PNG or SVG. Avoid JPG (no transparency).
  • Weight: Under 300 KB keeps PDFs fast.
  • Version: Upload your most current logo. If the brand changes, replace here once and every form picks it up.

Multi-location #

If you operate multiple locations under the same legal entity, Bizuno supports additional Locations (aka stores or branches) under Admin → Company → Locations. Each location can have its own address, phone, and even its own default bank account — but all post to the same General Ledger unless you’re running separate companies.

Multi-company #

If you run more than one legal entity (e.g., the retail shop and a separate frame-building LLC), run each on its own Bizuno install. Mixing entities in one install mixes tax filings, financial statements, and bank reconciliations — a mess that’s hard to unwind.Important: Changing the Fiscal Year Start after you’ve been posting transactions is disruptive — existing periods have to be remapped, and mid-year retained-earnings calculations break. Set it correctly at go-live and leave it. If you genuinely need to change (e.g., your CPA restructures the year), plan it with your accountant and do it during year-end close.

Changes that ripple #

  • Legal Name / Address — appears on open invoices too. Customers sometimes query this; keep a note of when you changed.
  • Currency — changing the default currency after transactions exist is effectively not supported in place. Use multi-currency on customer/vendor records instead.
  • Date format — cosmetic; changes immediately, no data migration.

Annual review #

Once a year (usually alongside year-end close), verify:

  • Address is current.
  • Phone and email are current and monitored.
  • Logo is current (a new brand without updating here is a common oversight).
  • Tax IDs are still the right permits (some states renew sales tax permits annually).

Tips for Ridgeline Cycles #

  • Use the email address that goes to a real inbox someone monitors — not a founder’s dormant personal account.
  • If your shop phone is different from the owner’s cell, use the shop phone. Customers call the number on the invoice.
  • Upload the logo in SVG if you have it — it prints crisply at any size.
  • Put your sales tax permit number on the shop wall AND in Company Setup. Someone will ask once a year.

Where to go next #

  • Users, Roles & Permissions — add people to the system.
  • Taxes, Shipping & Payment Methods — tax rules use the Company address as a default.
  • Email Templates (Category 8) — use the {{signature}} token to pick up the Company signature block.
