ParticipantLatest code as of today (and Bizuno 7.3.4 to 7.3.8)
PHP 8.2First off, I may be misunderstanding how to configure sales and purchase taxes but they look similar to those in Phreebooks 3.7, with which I have used taxes successfully in the past.
I have created a sales tax and a purchase tax in the Phreebooks settings. Both taxes appear in the list in their respective tabs in the Phreebooks settings.
I have enabled “Sales tax by order” in the Phreebooks totals tab but similar behaviour occurs if I enable “Sales tax by item”.Steps to reproduce
- Create a sale or edit an existing sale
- In the “Totals” box on the right, select the tax rate
- Only “None” is available. The sales tax I configured does not appear as a selection.
The same applies to creating a purchase or purchase order.
I have tried creating the sales tax both with no expiry date and with an expiry date far in the future (2099). It looks like the “Vendor” field is optional but as well as leaving it blank, I have tried creating a vendor for the tax authority and selecting that.
In Github, BCbrett responded:
It sounds like you hit the major parts. Set up the rates in settings-apps-phreebooks sales tax tab, and the settings to use them. Make sure the customer isn’t listed as tax exampt, you can apply a rate by default to a customer if you like. But the main part I found for the first time around is, when creating a tax rate, set it as effective yesterday, if you set it as today it won’t show up until tomorrow. Also you need to log out, close all tabs of bizuno, then log back in again to have the rate load up, I take it available rates load at login, so a newly created one will not show up in your current session.
I think I set up the rates correctly in settings-apps-phreebooks sales tax. I tried setting the start date to the start of this month, then logging out, closing all Bizuno browser tabs, opening a new tab, browsing to my Bizuno installation and logging in. I still cannot see the configured rates in a sales invoice, sales, order, nor the tax selections for a customer or an inventory item. So I can’t set a default rate for a customer because there is no rate to select. The customer’s tax-exempt setting is set to “No”.
I tried again, this time when I closed the tabs after logging out I opened a new tab for Bizuno in a different browser (Firefox rather than Chromium). After logging in I still can’t see the taxes.
What other settings do I need in order to use the tax rates?
